Creative solutions to ensure entertaining experiences!
I graduated with honours from the Utrecht School of Art and Technology. During my studies I worked as a game & level designer on many projects, most notable of which are Age of Wonders III and my lead role at Karmaflow. After graduating I started working as a programmer, and later on as a game designer, at MediaMonks where I did programming, prototyping and game and level design on various diverse projects:
Surely You Quest for Cartoon Network, All of Brazil Plays for Google, Quest To Legoland for Legoland and Festival Run for Red Bull.
Sadly I cannot show all of the projects made during my time at MediaMonks (due to client requests & NDA), but I would be delighted to tell you about them in person.
After leaving MediaMonks I joined the team at Paladin Studios as a level designer and cooperated with Nintendo Japan to create the game: Good Job! for the Nintendo Switch. I learned a lot about exploring creative concepts and finding ‘the fun’. After the game launched I went to work for Hangar 13 Games (part of 2K/Take-Two Interactive) to work on their next-gen flagship title and develop my design skills even further as a level designer on the missions team. After leaving Hangar 13 I now devote my time to Splash Damage working on Transformers: Reactivate! as a mission & level designer.
Never having had a ‘nine to five’ mentality, the dedication to my art stems from a passion for designing (and playing) games, as well as a drive to excel. I pride myself on my pro-active go-getter attitude and problem solving skills.
Now that I have well over 7 years of full-time work experience, am I looking for the next challenge to dedicate myself to wholeheartedly.

It was a pleasure working with Nick. He is thorough and concise, and always actively working on improving his skill set. Nick goes beyond the theoretical part of game design, and can prove his arguments with working prototypes and playable builds. He is the complete package for anyone looking for productive and practical game design.
Nick has great insight in game design and dynamics. I am especially impressed by his limitless enthusiasm, both for the job and life in general. He is always keen to learn and takes on any challenge. Well organized, positive, using self reflection to identify areas to improve and then putting that into practice. He's a great addition to any team.
